birthday dinner

we took my husband to one of the local pizza places for his birthday celebration.  the kids were lovin’ on him while we waited for our pizza. i just love how happy they all look- makes my heart happy!

 the anger blockade

my son was not happy that my husband put him to bed tonight- which is funny, because he pitched a fit the night before when i put him to bed and he wanted my husband to do it! anyway- tonight he did something different…instead of the usual crying and throwing toys out of his room, he channeled his energy and built a blockade in front of my bedroom! gotta give it to him- much more creative way of channeling his frustration!

that’s all i got.

i was so happy that i actually looked at all of the forty million papers (yes, an exaggeration but not by much) that my daughter brought home from school. this is definitely a keeper! it makes my heart incredibly happy to watch my kids together- and just know how much they both adore each other!

night school

meet my son, the night owl! this is how we caught him on our way to bed.  at least it’s an educational toy?!

jealous

today was one of those days where i hated my cat! why does he get to stay in bed? he really has it made!

 testing day

my daughter tested for her blue belt in karate today.  this was a quiet moment of stretching before the three hour event!  happy to report, she completely rocked it!  i’m so, so very proud of her!

racing

my son rediscovered a Christmas toy today.  after downloading the instructions on how to put this thing together, he raced the day away!

just the girls | monterey lifestyle photographer

just wanted to share some of my favorites while out on a shoot with my friend and her daughters (as per her mother’s request…we should always do what our mothers tell us!).  i couldn’t ask for more…a beautiful day, a beautiful location, and three very beautiful ladies!  so happy i had the opportunity to take these pictures!

rainy days and mondays

it was a cold and rainy/wet snow kind of day in philadelphia….i didn’t let that slow me down though!  here’s the view from my hotel room.

bright lights, big city

i’ve seen a lot of people working on unfocused pictures, so i decided to give it a whirl.  another shot from my hotel room looking down on the city at night.

study break

i was in class all week- studied harder than i’ve studied in a LONG time! i thought keeping up with my pictures was going to be a challenge; however, i really looked forward to taking the picture- let me get out of my head a bit and have fun. here i am, jumping on my hotel bed!  sad to report that while this was fun channeling my inner child, my outer adult was quite winded in the end!

i’m just sittin’ here watching the wheels go round and round…

while breathing in some fresh air after being trapped in the basement all day, i couldn’t help but sing john lennon’s song “watching the wheels”.  i decided to attempt to make a visual.  it didn’t quite turn out the way i envisioned it, but i only had ten minutes before heading out to dinner and study session.  i might have to attempt this again down the road.

celebration

once again, not the greatest shot, but i just completed my course, and it was definitely time to celebrate.  i will say that my priority was not getting the picture- it was to not spill my drink!

comin’ home

similar to my travel day picture.  this was the part of the flight that i felt good (i was actually on it)…but that was short-lived (after a long week with little sleep and lots of stress, a night of celebrating, little sleep, and a stressful moment when you realized booked your flight for the day prior)!  needless to say, i was happy to get home!

exception to the rule

for those of you that know my son, you know how much he fears dogs.  he has found his second exception to his rule.  thank you, sweet daisy, for helping him overcome his fears (at least for a little bit!).
